Reviews for Al Grottino
Review highlights
Based on 571 reviewsAl Grottino consistently receives praise for its authentic ambiance and welcoming atmosphere, reflecting the charm of its small Italian village setting. Reviewers frequently highlight the freshness and taste of the food, particularly noting the quality of local cuisine, homemade pastries, and selection of local wines. The restaurant’s attentive and friendly staff contribute significantly to the positive dining experience. While the menu is described as concise, this is seen as a strength rather than a limitation, ensuring high-quality dishes rather than quantity. Patrons also appreciate the reasonable pricing and convenient location in Piazza XX Settembre, making Al Grottino a favored spot for both locals and visitors seeking genuine Italian flavors.
Great service, delicious food, reasonable prices, authentic ambiance.
Fantastic place. Friendly people and delicious food. One could not find a better place to taste the local cuisine. Homemade pastries and local vine made our visit even more enjoyable.
Very good pizza, good price and kind waitresses.
Great location, super fresh and tasty food, lovely staff and owner. Will be back
At first, you might not expect much from this small but charming little restaurant tucked away in a small village called Sacrofano, surrounding the Italian capital of Roma, especially when you are handed the menu and you realize that they do not even have that many dishes to choose from! But, rest assured, even if you opt for starters only or any main - you will be extremely content. My recommendation is to go for their sample everything in smaller quantities version, which is perfect especially if you are more than a couple of people. Mouth watering dishes which consist of meats such as mutton, pork and steaks, typical Italian pastas and great freshly oven baked bread and cakes which they make themselves, decent pizza, all watered down by their own amazing house wines... be prepared to drop somewhere around 30 for 2-3 people, which is, let's face it, a bargain for what you get back...
Great locations in the Roman hills, we were treated by local friends to " IL Grottino".Local homemade style food was good and savory. Service, as often happens in Italy, a little slow. All and all a decent experience.
